The Tree of Bitterness with diagram

Scripture: Matthew 18 v 34-35: "And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses."

Hebrews 12 v  14 -15: "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:  Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled."

Today's study comes with a diagram of the Tree of Bitterness. So many people suffer from the serious consequences of bitterness without realising that their troubles and diseases cannot be healed until they deal with the bitterness in their souls.

Look at the fruit on this Tree. Do you have any of these growing or hiding in your life? Look at the roots. Until these roots die this tree will continue to bear its ugly sour fruit. If you prune the fruit which your psychiatrist may recommend you will get a bigger crop.

The root of 'Anger towards God' is when you blame God for not preventing a terrible tragedy or illness that destroyed a life or a marriage. Remember that satan is the god of this world and the one who kills, steals and destroys (John 10v10). So be sure of your facts before you lay blame on your Father.

The only true release will come when you forgive anyone that has hurt you from the heart. Then you will get the victory over drug addiction; alcoholism; smoking; anger; feuds; heart disease; cancer; arthritis and revenge. Only when you truly forgive will your Heavenly Father blot out your sins too.

When Jesus was on the Cross He prayed - Father forgive them they know not what they are doing! He is our role model so let us likewise forgive and uproot this evil tree.

Prayer: Father God I put my hand on this diagram of the Tree of Bitterness and I choose to forgive everyone who has ever hurt me. Please cleanse my soul of every bad fruit, every horrible memory and fill me with peace. In Jesus' name. Amen.
